July 14 Cloister Gardens Day Performance. This was Brian's last gig. I was sad to see him go as well. He's a brilliant guitarist and George and Brian made a powerful pair. In an ad in Kempster's Music Shop in Swindon, Tony Jordan was looking for a band and eventually he joined the Doobs.

About this time George Symington had to leave the area to follow his employment. He was a skilled bass player and backing vocalist and I was sorry to see him go. Finding a replacement was not easy and the bassist who could not rehearse most evenings due to his community service and could not attend when it rained as his old jeep lacked a windscreen wiper motor, had to be rejected. Fortunately, Roger Smith joined the band on bass and has been with us ever since.
